Map of SulawesiThe Togian Islands, formed by volcanic activity, and reputed to have the calmest sea in the world , is an archipelago of 56 islands surrounded by turquoise sea, mangroves, and hardwood rainforests.

Over 200 species of coral, forming three types of coral formation, rare to be found in on area -barrier reef, atoll, and fringing reefs, support a plethora of marine life. Dolphins, the hawksbill turtle, the green turtle, the rare dugong, giant sponges, nudibranches, reef sharks.

A kaleidoscope of tropical marine life, many of which are unique to the Togians, which is near the Wallace line (a division between the New and Old world), and about 30 kilometers from the equator.

The lush rainforests are home to many exotic creatures, many endemic to the Togians Islands. The rare babirusa (pig deer), the red-crested hornbill, the cuscus (a marsupial), and the coconut crab which can reach a size of 90 cm.

Schools of DolphinsAlthough idyllically isolated from worldly cares, it is only 2 and half hours by boat from the mainland where international communications are available.

Dramatic drop-offs with unique topography for adventure diving where visibility average 35 to 45 meters.
